The retro kit includes 9 presets that apply a collection of effects and tweaks to create a unique feel to your photos. The base presets can be used to make old stock film style color modifications, and the retro presets will create retro looking photos. These filters took me a very long time to get the effect and feel that I want,  whilst still maintaining the original colors and emotion of the photo. They do not effect the  exposure of the picture. You will have the best results if you manipulate the exposure, highlights, and white levels post application of the filter. 

The Tweak kit includes 10 presets that effect individual aspects of your images: tone curve, grain, and vignette. They can be used as stand alone presets, or applied after you have applied a retro kit filter if you need a little more adjustment based on your image. For example, I typically apply the Retro Normal Filter preset from the Retro Kit, and then the Low Fade Tone Curve preset, from this kit, as a way to draw shadows but maintain that retro feel.

Each preset is designed for a different scene: interior, exterior, if you want your colors to have that extra pop, add rich black, or add a little fade while still keeping everything super sharp. I often apply one of these filters and then adjust exposure and highlights to suit.
